Shi Huangdi was a very important man in Chinese history. His real name was Zhang, but he called himself Shi Huangdi, which means "first emperor." He technically formed China, creating the first dynasty, the Qin Dynasty, in two hundred twenty-one B.C.E. After the Warring States Period, Shi's side won. He unified all of China. Shi created the secret police. He also abolished the normal military customs. Shi built the Terracotta Warriors and the Great Wall of China. When he came into power he made all of the weight measurements and writing systems the same.
